| On November 15, 2002, Contact North/Contact Nord officially launched the third conference in its Emerging Technologies Series, Emerging Technologies 2003: The e-conference. The conference will be held at Thunder Bay’s Valhalla Inn on February 25, 26, 27, 2003. Contact North/Contact Nord is extremely pleased to welcome the Ministry of Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation as our government partner and TBayTel as our corporate partner in hosting this important event. The e is all around us. Each and every day, we make purchases on line using e-commerce solutions; we continue to pursue our educational studies by using e-learning solutions offered by universities, colleges and school boards; we update our address for our Ontario Outdoors Card using on line government services; and while living in Kenora, we get access to a medical specialist in Thunder Bay using an e-health solution over the Internet. The potential for the e is unlimited and the effects that it will have on our everyday activities are enormous and will only continue to grow. The e offers incredible opportunities to increase our access to health care, education, government, and our ability to market our products and services around the world while still enjoying the quality of life that Northern Ontario has to offer. |
The Conference will feature four key streams: e-learning A keynote speaker will address each of these four topics and there will be a series of interactive workshops with industry leaders and experts who will look at specific issues. In addition, a variety of government funding agencies will be present and will talk more about their programs and offerings. |
